Meet the PTA Board
PresidentKristin RooneyI’m a proud mom to Keira (9th grade) and Kaitlin (4th grade). I knew Navesink was special the moment we stepped through the doors. From the second to none faculty, to the caring staff and administrators, and the families we meet along the way, there is no part of this community that is not amazing. Navesink is more than a school to us, it is like our second family, and we are honored and fortunate to be a part of it. I have been grateful to be on the board for the past 6 years, serving the roles of Secretary, both VP's, and President for the past 3. I’m excited to work alongside our amazing board and members to help make our little school with a big heart the best place it can be.

I have 2 boys, John (4th grade) and Mario (6th Grade at Bayshore Middle School). We love being at the beach during the summer months as well as being with friends & family. VP of FundraisingMelissa DausIt is with much excitement that I begin my second year as part of the PTA Board in a new role as VP of Fundraising. I am a proud boy mom to Bernie (9th grade), Henry (4th grade), and Ethan (2nd grade). My family and I absolutely love Navesink – everyone from the teachers, staff, and families contribute to making a positive and caring environment for our children to learn and grow. Outside of school, we love spending time outdoors whether it be at the beach, riding bikes on the trails around town, or exploring our various local parks. We also spend a lot of time coaching and supporting our sons’ sports teams. I am thrilled to work with this fantastic board to make this year a wonderful one at Navesink Elementary School!

SecretaryAshley NoonanHi Navesink families! This will be my first year on the PTA board, but more than likely you have seen me at an event volunteering. I am the mom of Findlay (3rd grade) and Avery (1st grade). Our whole family loves Navesink and feel so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community. In my free time, you can find me transporting my kids to football, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, and gymnastics. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the other members of the board, as well as, our dedicated Navesink staff who all have the same goal of making every experience the best it can be for our kids. I can’t wait to get to know more of you in the upcoming school year!

Descriptions of Open Roles
Financial Review Committee- Recruited in order to explore the PTA board’s financial records. Will view the transactions and make sure there are no discrepancies and ensure accurate disbursements. This review happens once a year in September. This is a very small time commitment.
Philanthropy- This is a new committee focused on giving back to our community. This chair would come up with ideas and organize some events to benefit those in need in our community. For example a drive for the Blessing Bag Brigade, a penny drive, a holiday giving event.
Please do not feel that chairing a committee has to take all your time – it doesn’t! Many committees are one-time events. Those that are ongoing often only require a little bit of work over an extended period.
